AEO for Personal Injury Law Firms

When an injured person asks AI who to call, your firm should be one of the names.

First Mind AI is an answer engine optimization agency for personal injury firms. We work on getting your firm recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Mode, for the case types and cities that bring you cases. You watch it happen in your own live dashboard, platform by platform and against the firms you compete with.

What AEO means for a PI firm

AI answers name a handful of firms.

A search results page shows ten links and some ads. An AI assistant answers with a short list of firms. Answer engine optimization is the work of getting your firm onto that list.

In personal injury the questions are local and tied to the case type, so a firm can be on the list in one city and missing in the next. These are the kinds of questions we measure:

  • “best car accident lawyer in Tampa”
  • “who should I call after a truck accident in Houston”
  • “should I hire a lawyer after a car crash in Georgia”
  • “I was hurt in a motorcycle accident in Phoenix, which law firm should I use”
  • “lawyer to help with an insurance claim after an accident in St. Louis”
What we found

Most PI firms are close to invisible in AI answers.

450
AI answers scored across 15 of the biggest U.S. legal ad markets
81%
of the firms scored were named in 10% of answers or fewer
10
household-name advertisers were never named at all

From The Answer Share, our September 2026 study of which injury firms ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity recommend in each market. Methodology and the full question set are on the study page.

What we do

The work that gets a PI firm named.

01

Make sure AI can read your site

We test every major AI crawler against your site live, not just your robots.txt file. A security setting that blocks one of them can keep your firm out of that platform’s answers no matter how good the content is, and it rarely shows up anywhere else.

02

One consistent identity

Your firm name, attorneys, office addresses, phone numbers and case types should match on your website, Google Business Profile, Avvo, Justia, Super Lawyers, Martindale and the state bar. AI names firms it can verify, and mismatches make you harder to verify.

03

Answers to the questions injured people ask

We break each question that brings in cases into the smaller questions the AI researches before it answers, then check which ones your site already covers. New pages are written for your state’s law and your case types.

04

Third-party authority

Before an assistant names a firm, it looks for others vouching for it: directory profiles, reviews that describe the kind of case, local news, legal publications, and interviews.

05

Keep the facts current

Statute citations, damage caps and benefit rates change. We sweep your site for figures that have gone out of date, because an assistant that repeats an outdated figure from your site repeats it with your firm’s name attached.

06

Attorney approval on everything

Every page, post and article goes to your firm for approval in your dashboard before it publishes. Nothing goes live on your behalf without a sign-off from your side.

Your dashboard

Every client gets a live dashboard of their AI visibility.

Every engagement includes a private dashboard your firm can open any time. It shows where you stand in AI answers today and how you compare with the firms you compete against for cases.

FAQ

AEO for personal injury firms, answered.

What is answer engine optimization for a personal injury law firm?

AEO is the work that makes AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Mode name your firm when someone who was hurt asks which lawyer to call. For a PI firm, that means being recommended for specific case types in specific cities, which depends on a verifiable identity, third-party authority, and published answers to the questions injured people ask.

Can a personal injury firm pay to appear in ChatGPT answers?

Not inside the answer. Since August 2026, OpenAI has accepted ads from licensed U.S. law firms, but those ads are labeled as sponsored and shown apart from the response, and OpenAI says they do not influence the answer. A firm gets named in the answer because the assistant trusts it, and that trust has to be earned.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend our firm?

No one can, and we do not promise it. AI answers change with phrasing, location and time. What we commit to is the work, a baseline before it starts, and honest numbers in your dashboard on whether each platform is naming your firm more often.

What will we see in our dashboard?

Every client gets a private, live dashboard. It shows how often each AI platform names your firm, which competing firms it names instead and for which questions, how that has moved since the baseline, what we are working on next, and every draft waiting for your approval.

Does AEO replace our SEO, TV or LSA spend?

No. AEO sits alongside them. In our Answer Share study, heavy television advertisers landed at both ends of the results: one St. Louis TV firm held the highest answer share we recorded, while ten household-name advertisers scored zero in their own markets. AI assistants decide on different signals than ad spend does.

How long does it take to see results?

The fastest fixes, like unblocking an AI crawler or correcting inconsistent firm details, can register on some platforms within a few weeks. Results that depend on authority take longer, and new content on a site the engines do not yet trust may show nothing for two months or more. Competitive markets move slower.

Is the content compliant with bar advertising rules?

We write to the advertising rules in your state: no guaranteed outcomes, no misleading comparisons, and case results presented with the context and disclaimers they require. Your firm approves every piece before it publishes, and the final call on compliance stays with your attorneys.
